SIL and SDA explained
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is funding for help with daily tasks in your home — personal care, cooking, cleaning, medication and getting around — so you can live as independently as possible. Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is funding for purpose-built or modified housing for people with very high support needs or extreme functional impairment.
Both require detailed evidence. Our occupational therapists assess your current living situation, your daily support needs, safety and risk, and the housing features that would make a difference, then set it out in a report that matches NDIS criteria.

Who is eligible for SDA?
SDA is for a small group of participants with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs. Most participants who need housing support are better suited to SIL, home modifications or other housing options; we'll give you an honest view of the best pathway.
Do you help with the application?
Yes. We prepare the assessment report, liaise with your support coordinator and can respond to NDIA requests for further information.
Can the assessment be done in my current home?
