NDIS application and assessment

Applying for the NDIS is a lot of paperwork at a hard time. We assess your functional capacity, prepare the evidence and guide you through each step.

How an access request works

Five steps, with us alongside you for each one.

  1. Check eligibility

We confirm you meet the age, residency and disability requirements before you invest time in an application.

  2. Gather evidence

Medical reports, specialist letters and a functional capacity assessment showing how your disability affects daily life.

  3. Request the access form

Contact the NDIA on 1800 800 110 or apply online. We'll tell you exactly what to ask for.

  4. Complete and submit

We help you fill in the Access Request Form and attach the supporting documents so nothing is missing.

  5. Prepare for your planning meeting

Once accepted, we help you set goals and describe your support needs so your first plan reflects them.

Application questions

Who is eligible for the NDIS?

You generally need to be under 65 when you apply, be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or Protected Special Category visa holder, and have a permanent and significant disability that substantially reduces your functional capacity.

What evidence does an access request need?

Evidence of your disability from a treating professional, plus evidence of how it affects daily life. A functional capacity assessment from an occupational therapist is one of the strongest pieces of functional evidence.

How long does the NDIS take to decide?

The NDIA aims to decide within 21 days of receiving a complete access request, but may ask for more information. Strong evidence up front avoids delays.

What if my application is declined?

You can ask for an internal review within three months. We can help you understand the reasons and strengthen the evidence.
